Reuters: Trump is expected to tap US Senator Marco Rubio to be his secretary of state. Rubio has said in recent interviews that Ukraine needs to seek a negotiated settlement with Russia rather than focus on regaining all territory that Russia has taken in the last decade. He was also one of 15 Republican senators to vote against a $95 billion military aid package for Ukraine, passed in April.
The Kyiv Independent: Trump has tapped Rep. Mike Waltz to be his national security adviser. Waltz has expressed reservations about continued extensive US military aid to Ukraine, arguing that European nations should increase their support to ensure regional stability.
Reuters: North Korea has ratified a mutual defence treaty with Russia signed by the two countries' leaders in June, which calls for each side to come to the other's aid in case of an armed attack, state media KCNA said on Tuesday.
Forbes: Without much fanfare, Taiwan may have become one of the Ukraine air force’s biggest boosters. According to former Pentagon official Tony Hu, Taiwan has donated its surplus HAWK surface-to-air missile batteries to the Ukrainian air force.
